Performing Arts Academy

Our Stage School

The Academy runs on Monday evenings and currently incorporates about one third of the pupils at KHS. Each week, classes and workshops take place from 3.30pm to 9.30pm. We even incorporate prep/homework sessions so that pupils do not fall behind. The only entry requirements are energy and enthusiasm.

What do we do?

We include a wide-ranging programme during the year. We currently offer singing workshops, choir rehearsals, band practices, acting workshops, Chapel drama rehearsals, ballet lessons and free dance classes. A large amount of time is also dedicated to our large-scale annual musical.

Confidence and skills

Academy pupils genuinely grow in confidence whilst developing physical and communication skills.

Beyond the Academy

Most senior Academy pupils have opted for performing arts based subjects in their examination options. We offer GCSEs in Drama and Music and A Levels in Performing Arts and Music. Pupils also take examinations in Speech and Drama, Music and Ballet. Upper Sixth Form pupils move on into Theatre Schools and Performing Arts colleges.
