Over the last decade or so we have become increasingly concerned for the environment and have introduced a wide range of ideas and initiatives to ensure that we play our part well in protecting the environment and reducing our carbon footprint. We also ensure that our pupils are very aware of environmental issues and their own personal responsibility. This is achieved in the classroom, through extra-curricular activities and by example setting.

The following have played their part:

Sourcing local produce for our kitchen
Adopting rigorous recycling procedures
Composting
Using energy saving devices wherever possible
Carrying out any refurbishment work with sustainability and energy efficiency as important priorities
Running a very successful Environmental Club for pupils
Growing, selling, collecting and shredding Christmas trees for the local community
