Inspections

We are celebrating a hat trick of excellent school inspection reports

In February 2010, the school received a high-powered visit from a New England Association of Schools and Colleges inspection team.  Following a glowing report, Kingham Hill became the first British boarding school to receive accreditation. In April, CReSTeD inspected and another very pleasing report was forthcoming, confirming the school’s registration as having a high quality and officially approved Dyslexic Unit.

The hat trick was completed with the all-important ISI inspection report that followed two separate inspections during October and November.

Headmaster, Nick Seward, is thrilled with all three reports.  Of the most recent, he comments: “This is a fantastic result! I am so proud of our fabulous pupils, my excellent and hard-working staff, and our supportive and enthusiastic parents. Kingham Hill is a special place, in a special setting, with a special future, and I’m so glad that the inspection team has recognised all of that.”

The report contains many highlights.  The following probably sum up why Kingham Hill is increasing successful and attractive to parents looking for a rounded education for their children:

• “The school is successful in its mission to provide a safe, stimulating and supportive environment in which pupils have the freedom and opportunities to fulfil their potential.”
• “The excellent pastoral care of pupils is a strength of the school.”
• “The pupils’ excellent attitudes to their teachers and studies contribute to their achievement, as does their exemplary behaviour and relationships with each other.”
• “There are excellent relationships between pupils and staff, and the great majority of pupils are very appreciative of the support and encouragement they receive.”
• “In a strong Christian setting pupils’ spiritual and moral development is exemplary.”
• “The quality of teaching is consistently good a frequently excellent.”
• “Pupils’ social skills are extremely well developed and they are courteous, polite and well behaved.”
• “Pupils are very well developed socially and benefit from the many opportunities to acquire leadership skills. They are well prepared for life beyond school.”

The school is growing in size, enjoying improved academic success and performing increasingly well on the sports field.  Plans are well progressed for a £5M centre-piece academic building.

The three reports can be found on any of the school’s home pages: Top menu / Learn / Inspection Reports.
