In conjunction with her husband, Tony, Sylvia was Houseparent of Plymouth House  from 1986 - 1990 and Norwich House 1992 - 1998. 

In 2009 Sylvia fell ill with bowel cancer which then spread to her liver.  After a fierce struggle with the disease she died on August 11th 2010.  She loved 'her' boys in both houses, and often spoke of them with great fondness.  To Sylvia Kingham Hill was a wonderful place where she could give as much as she had in her generous heart, knowing full well that those gifts she gave so selflessly would help to shape the lives of the boys under her care.  She was a strong and exceptional woman whose mark on the world - and on the lives of all who knew and loved her at Kingham Hill- will be unforgettable.

She will always be very fondly remembered by all her many friends and colleagues within our Kingham family.
