"The school you choose for your child plays a major role in shaping his or her future."One Family’s ExperiencePaul and Pauline enjoyed a much-travelled lifestyle as work saw them regularly move their young family to a new home in yet another part of the world. But with eldest daughter Sarah approaching those crucial teenage years, it was time to take a serious look at her long-term educational needs. Paul explains: 'We have travelled extensively with our work, sometimes moving country every two years. In the past we always travelled as a family - our daughters would start a new school and make new friends. 'However, it was starting to unsettle them. Their education was suffering, as the curriculum didn't coincide across schools. They also needed to make lasting friends...' The Mitchells opted for a boarding school because of the educational stability it offered. It is something they have never regretted. 15 year old Sarah has now been a boarder for three and a half years while sister Louise (12) joined her last September. Paul says that the benefits the girls are enjoying from the stability is beyond all expectations. 'They are achieving more academically. They are also achieving more in the sporting and extracurricular activities. 'Kingham Hill offers more opportunities outside the curriculum than any other school they have been to. And they get the chance to do things they wouldn't elsewhere - for instance in the creative arts, or going on cultural trips. The broad focus of the education seems to give a better-rounded child at the end of the day.' |
