With 125 years of experience in offering boarding provision to the majority of our pupils, we know what it takes to provide a genuine and reassuring home-from-home feel for our boarders. Our six boarding houses are beautiful and substantial homes built traditionally by local craftsmen in Cotswold stone. Our Founder spared no expense in their construction and we have a rolling programme of refurbishment to ensure that they meet the needs of today’s young people. Each house is cared for by a houseparent and deputy houseparent. The houseparents are helped by tutors and pastoral assistants. The houses accommodate variously between 24 and 35 pupils. They are warm, attractive and secure. The houses are situated in their own location around the campus and set in their own gardens. The girls' houses are set somewhat apart from the others as is the junior boys' house, which enjoys a particularly spacious setting with a very large garden used exclusively by the junior boys. Pupils quickly form strong house loyalties and a robust yet healthy sense of competition prevails. |
