In September 2006 we started on an ambitious programme to thoroughly renovate and refurbish each of our seven boarding houses.
Greenwich House had the privilege of being first, followed closely by Bradford House. The plan is to make each of the beautiful, historic and traditionally built houses far more efficient and eco-friendly.
All domestic systems are being renewed or replaced; sympathetic double-glazed windows made to measure; external walls, roofs, gutters and drainage brought up to scratch; interiors gutted, re-plastered, hung with new doors and every room entirely re-fitted.
Our most recent refurbishment work has taken place in what was once Durham House. It has been converted to provide day houses for both boys and girls. It also offers a home to a brand new Health Centre and Upper Sixth boarding accommodation for boys.
Upper Sixth boarding accommodation has also been created by refurbishing rooms in the Administration block.
