Scholarships We offer seven forms of scholarship to a maximum of £4,000 per term. All awards are means tested. Usually, only one or two of each type of scholarship are awarded annually. Junior: For academically able pupils under 14-years of age on 1 September of the year of entry, who score at least 60% at Common Entrance, or the equivalent standard (minimum Level 5 in all three subjects at Key Stage 2). Art: For gifted pupils under 14-years of age on 1 September of the year of entry, who show excellent drawing skills, imagination and the ability to experiment with a range of materials. Music: For gifted pupils under 14-years of age on 1 September of the year of entry. Candidates will normally, but not exclusively, offer more than one instrument at Grade 4 level or higher. Organ: For one gifted pupil over 16-years old on 1 September of the year of entry who demonstrate a love of and commitment to music, particularly the Anglican choral tradition. They will normally offer more than one instrument and have achieved Grade 6 level or higher. It is desirable for candidates to have some experience of accompanying. Performing Arts: For talented pupils under 14-years of age on 1 September of the year of entry who display flair and potential in the field of dance and drama. Sport: For talented pupils under 14-years of age on 1 September of the year of entry who demonstrate ability and commitment to a variety of sports, and county standard in at least one. Sixth Form: . Baring Young Award: Based on boarding need, given to a pupil who has much to give to the School but who would not be able to come or remain at the School, without considerable financial assistance. . Founder's Scholarship: Available to anyone, and awarded for academic excellence at GCSE and A level potential. Bursaries The Kingham Hill Trust offers a limited number of bursaries each year to pupils who really need to be at a boarding school, but who are unable to afford the full fees. The number of children that we are able to help is limited to funds available from the Kingham Hill Trust. |
