Physical Education
KS3 Physical Education is all about exploring a wider variety of physical activity, learning and developing techniques and implementing tactics which are transferable to all walks of sport. Throughout each year the class spend a half term on each sport, including but not limited to badminton, basketball, gymnastics and in the summer term the lessons build up to sports day, developing understanding and performance of different athletics disciplines.
Throughout the 3 years, we introduce theoretical concepts of Physical Education with anatomy and physiology, such as the functions and structure of the muscular and skeletal systems and fitness training, such as the different training methods, which accumulates with end of year exams in 1st and 2nd form.
In 3rd form we look at producing a mini training program in the gym and the how to train effectively and safely which is an excellent prerequisite to GCSE Physical Education.
