From Kingham Cadet to Airline Pilot

From Kingham Cadet to Airline Pilot

Recently, Stephen and Matthew Schnappauf (Clyde 2015-16), visited the Hill along with their mother. Their return gave them the chance to reflect on how their time at Kingham Hill shaped their careers.

Matthew, a former 3rd Form pupil, credited his involvement in the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) and a flight in a Grob Tutor with sparking his passion for aviation. He is now an airline pilot for Republic Airways in Washington, DC.

Stephen, a former 1st Form pupil, recalled his love for science, mathematics, and sports, which inspired him to pursue Aerospace Engineering. He is currently studying at the United States Naval Academy with aspirations to become a fighter pilot.

Their visit was a reminder of the lasting impact Kingham Hill has on our alumni’s careers. We’re grateful for the opportunity to reconnect and celebrate their achievements.

We are always happy to welcome Hillians back. Please email Alumni Engagement & Development Lead, Andrew Mitchell at a.mitchell@kinghamhill.org or call 01608 658999 to arrange a visit.
