Please join us for the the first in a series of lectures that will be presented by Hillians and pupils together.
Our inaugural lecture will be taking place on the evening of Wednesday, April 29th.
A presentation regarding the Falklands Conflict which will feature the reasons for conflict; British and Argentine strengths; a timeline of events and the aftermath of the Conflict.
The lecture will be co-presented by Hillian David Russell (Norwich, 1968-75) who was a pilot during the Falklands Conflict and Tom Underhill who is a current pupil and Head Boy.
A synopsis by Tom Underhill:
"The Falklands Conflict has gone down in history due it's unusual circumstances. Despite using modern conventional weapons including nuclear submarines, surface to air missiles, and the beloved Harrier, it was sometimes referred to as a "Colonial War". As such, it is a fascinating conflict to study and to present."
Please come along to listen and for a Q&A.
Drinks to follow afterwards.
