Our Alumni Ambassadors Programme is a global initiative designed to unite Kingham Hill Alumni and friends from around the world. We are seeking individuals to lead regional groups, as well as those focused on specific school years or shared interests, such as sports and other passions. If you're interested in becoming an Alumni Ambassador and connecting with those already appointed, we’d love for you to join us at this online conference.

We are deeply grateful to those who choose to include Kingham Hill School in their will. In recognition of this commitment to the future of our school, all those leaving a legacy are invited to join the 1886 Society, a special group of alumni and supporters who share in the vision of sustaining the School's legacy. Members are invited to our annual Society lunch and other exclusive events, offering an opportunity to connect with fellow alumni and school leadership. The decision to leave a legacy not only secures the future of Kingham Hill School, but it also ensures that the values of generosity, service, and community continue to thrive for generations.

Known as 'The Rev' to Hillians from the years 1980-92, Bob Shepton served as Chaplain at Kingham Hill. He is remembered for inspiring and challenging pupils on the Hill, building a much-loved assault course in the wooded area behind Severn and Greenwich, and leading many a sailing trip and outdoor adventure around the world.   

Bob is also an Arctic explorer who has led several sailing and climbing expeditions to Greenland and Arctic Canada in his yacht, the Westerly 33ft sloop ‘Dodo’s Delight’. Bob has been a Royal Marines officer, a full-time youth leader in the east end of London and Kilburn, and Chaplain to two schools.

Hillian, David Russell, shares his experience of the Falklands war, from its build up right through to the war's aftermath.

During the Falklands War, Mr Russell was a 26 year old Navy pilot. He went on to be a commercial pilot and aviation regulator with the UK Civil Aviation Authority. As a former pupil of Norwich House, David was at Kingham Hill from 1968-1975, becoming Head Boy in his final year.

Resident military historian, Gareth Williams, Head of Languages and Octagon, takes us on a journey into the past as he tells of his "other life" as a battlefield guide in France and Flanders. 

Peppered with artefacts that he uses in teaching the 3rd Form, Mr Williams, shares why he is passionate about the Great War, and some of the exciting research he and the pupils have undertaken into the fallen of Kingham Hill.

As always, Gareth is an animated speaker, challenging us to reconsider our thinking on a period of history we think we know well.
