Floored by the progress made!

As the half term draws to a close, the build continues a pace. The concrete slabs forming the second floor are now in place and the smaller of the two internal staircases has been installed.

The internal spaces have become far more defined, with the lift shaft acting as a reference point on the upper floor.  The first image below is taken from what will be the upstairs changing rooms and the second taken looking into the squash court.

The size of the main hall is far more apparent from upstairs and whilst these images from upstairs were taken for me by the contractors, on Monday, when a handrail is fitted, I should be able to venture updaters myself, for the first time. The third image below is taken from the classroom, looking across the second floor towards the kitchen and social space.

Next week the panels for the walls and roof begin to arrive and the landscapers will appear on site. Unusually, the design of the building, allows us to get the landscaping completed this Spring, so once the building is finished, it should already be bedding in. As the weather has dried out, the contractors have had some time to try arnd start the process of recovering the road to Plymouth House.  Having scraped back the mud, reassuringly more tarmac was left than we had feared or expected! A work in progress I think.

Hope you have a lovely half term and lets see what progress we can make before the pupils return.
