One third done

Winter arrived this week with the first dusting of snow and far chillier temperatures on the Hill. Unfortunately these are not ideal conditions for laying the block work, however the foul drainage works continued regardless and so time was not lost.

Having been prevented by the weather from laying the block work on Tuesday and Wednesday, the bricklayers will continue to work over the exeat weekend, as the temperatures have risen again and should remain up until next Tuesday.

Additionally, the biomass pipes were installed to the plant room space and the water connections made.

The site is a bit of a swamp again, but with drainage installed the hope is that it will drain away pretty quickly.  Having now completed one third of the project (in the sense of time), it is already difficult to remember how the site looked back in September.

The black and white image above, was used this week by the Headmaster, when he discussed our strategic plans, to show how the area looked in the 1930s.  It remains so familiar, yet also in many ways different.

Fingers crossed for warm(ish) weather.
