Planting begins

With beautiful spring weather upon us, it seems appropriate that we should be seeing the first shrubs and trees being planted on the site. The uprights for the embankment fence have also been erected. Once all the plants have been inserted through the matting, the area will covered with top soil.

The final roof membrane is complete on the flat roof section and the sheeting for the arched roof was lifted into place on Friday. The first two pieces have been secured and by the end of the first week back the roof should be complete.

Inside, the interior walls continue to go up, with us able to ‘walk-through’ the first set of downstairs changing rooms and toilets.

The  mechanical and electrical installation has continued a pace, much to the bemusement of the landscapers, who as traditionally the last on site, are unaccustomed to being there whilst the bricklayers, roofers and plumbers are at work. The stonework is coming along nicely and should becoming more visible in the next few weeks.

The field (Cook’s Paddock) is nearly ready for us to begin returning it to being a paddock, although it may take 18 months for the soil and ground to fully recover.  A new water main was installed to Plymouth this week, ahead of the road works, to reinstate the road and Plymouth garden.

Let's hope the glorious weather continues, not only for the build, but for all those enjoying the Easter weekend with friends and family. .

A happy and restful Easter to all.
