Progress fast as wind finally still

Finally the first layer of the roof is on and the insulation is being installed. The ground matting to secure the embankment and help longer term keep the weeds at bay, is being fixed in place. As April fast approaches, it is great to think that in 6 months we will be planning to move equipment into the building.

The block work in the main Sports Hall is progressing and this week the 'finishes' meeting was held to decide the colour schemes, door handles, cubicle systems etc that will be used throughout the building. The core design starts to feel far more like reality.

As we approach the half way point in the build timeline, it was a pleasure to be able to show our Board of Governors around the site this week. Whilst many of them have been monitoring progress during visits to the School, as parents at pick-up times or even via this blog, it was the first time they had managed to walk around the site and see the building they all agreed the School needed, actually take shape.

Tomorrow sees nearly 100 Hillians return to the Hill and we hope they will also enjoy seeing the progress made to date.
