The glazing goes in

The curtain glass wall at the front of the building was installed just in time for the pupils returning this week, alongside the blue detailing on the draft lobby. The cedar cladding continues, with the contractors carefully selecting the different lengths and colours required.

From the inside, the view out is looking great.  The atrium is being plastered and the whole area now feels light and bright.  The sunshine floods through the atrium spreading upstairs into the events space.

This week, with the start of term, the Head of Sport and Head of PE popped down to visit the site. My favourite comment was "that it was like seeing your Christmas present early but having to wait a few months before getting it".

The acoustic paint (black) is complete and the first coat of white paint has been applied to the upper surfaces. The construction of the climbing wall is due to start a week on Monday, and the installation of the flooring and sporting equipment is also fast approaching.

In the other spaces, electrical trunking in being installed in the offices and classrooms and the internal glazing to the events space has been fitted. Areas are being plastered and the integrated panel systems in the changing rooms will begin next week.

We hope the new and returning pupils have enjoyed seeing the progress on site, on their return after the holidays.
