The view from the roof

With the building site shut for the Easter weekend, it has been a slower than normal week for the project, but the build is still running to time. The view below was taken from the top of the arched roof and shows what a tremendous view the roofers get of the School site every day.

The external cladding panels for the upper section of the Sport Hall have been delivered, so as soon as the stone work is complete (and it is certainly getting closer), the panels will start to be installed.

All bar one type of shrub has now been planted, so hopefully the recent mix of sunshine and rain will provide excellent growing conditions for the new plants.  We are now looking forward to the area being covered in top soil.

The internal blockwork in the Sports Hall is up to full height in places, with the remaining areas due for completion by the end of this week.

Although only just over half way through the project, it is getting easier to imagine football and netball games eventually taking place in this space.

It is just a brief update this week, given the short working week, although despite this, away from the site itself, it seemed to be a busy and productive week, with site progress meetings, discussions with the local planning department and answering numerous queries about final details such as fittings and finishes. The pupils return on Sunday after a three week break and we hope they will be excited by the progress made.
