Senior boys aged 14 to 18 years.
Welcome to Norwich House, I am Chris Aston and myself and my wife Jessie look after the boys in Norwich. We are here to help ensure that those that board in the house settle in as quickly and smoothly as possible. We have been Houseparents in Norwich for over two years now and live in a connecting house with our two young children Frazer, 5 and Bethany, 2 who both enjoy playing sports with their extended family of Norwich boys.
Thus far my experience of Norwich has impressed me enormously. Don’t be fooled by the beautiful grounds and building, Norwich is all about the people contained within. A vibrant family, with a strong concern to care for each other and push each other on to do our very best - this is something myself, Jessie and Lindsay Benn, our Deputy Houseparent, strive to nurture.
We like to ensure a warm welcoming atmosphere, an excellent environment for our boys to thrive in. Norwich will aim to be a home from home in which everyone feels secure, contented, respected and valued. We strive for Norwich to be a place of great unity, where we learn to live well together, benefiting communally from a concern for each other and an ever-present Norwich optimism.
We like to encourage our boys to treat Norwich as a family home and to feel proud of the house and their housemates. We foster the friendships our current boarders have through having an in-house activity night every week, previous nights have included pizza nights and birthday celebrations. On other evenings in the week our boarders are free to visit other houses, watch Sky TV, kick a ball around on the astro, play pool in the games room or go swimming.
