A Festive Finale to Michaelmas Term

As the Michaelmas Term draws to a close, the Kingham Hill community has been enjoying a host of festive activities, filling the final weeks of term with celebration and merriment. Highlights have included the Winter Concert,  Carols by Candlelight, the PA’s Pantomime, Inter-House Challenges, the Winter Ball, Mr Eyles’ Christmas Quiz, carol singing at Daylesford Farm, Christmas cupcake decorating, House trips, and the much-loved 12 Days of Christmas sing-along.

As always, Thomas Franks pulled out all the stops with a delicious Christmas lunch. Crackers were pulled, paper hats donned and grace said before enjoying the festive feast. In keeping with a long-standing Kingham Hill tradition, the youngest pupil in the school presented Head, Mr Last, with a Christmas pudding at the end of lunch — a moment that once again filled the dining room with warmth and cheer.

Music has played a central role in the season’s celebrations. The Winter Music Concert provided a wonderful dose of Christmas cheer. Pupils rose to the challenge admirably, showcasing not only musical talent, but the ability to channel nerves into something uplifting and joyful.

The term concluded on a reflective note with two carol services on the final day of term, led by Reverend Hutchings. Featuring pupil readings alongside music from Kingham Brass and the Choir, the services provided a fitting and meaningful close to a joyful and memorable term.
