American Pupils celebrate US High School Graduation at Kingham Hill

At Kingham Hill, pupils come from a diverse range of international backgrounds, and with 30 or so nationalities represented, it makes for a globally minded and mature community.

Whilst being a traditional British school, Kingham is unique by holding US accreditation through the Middle States Association (MSA). The US Program at Kingham was set up in partnership with the US Department of State in 2008. This program offers pupils the ability to graduate with a high school diploma.

Out of 340 pupils, roughly 40 each year participate in the US Program. Many come from nearby US Air Force bases, US Embassy Annex and children from US families who are stationed overseas through corporate placement. The program is diverse and offers international pupils the ability to receive a US qualification and assistance with preparing for US Universities.

This year our "Class of 2020" made it back for graduation, despite the Covid-19 challenge.  Pupils were able to celebrate their graduation individually (with families and key members of staff) and receive their high school diplomas in traditional cap and gown.

Congratulations to our graduates and new Hillians who are headed to a number of University destinations in the States and across Europe.
