Art Trip to Oxford

4th Form GCSE Art pupils travelled to Oxford on Tuesday to visit The Ashmolean Museum, The Pitt Rivers Museum and the Oxford University Museum of Natural History.

The purpose of the trip was to explore the collections on display in order to gain knowledge and generate ideas for their current project work based on the theme of ‘Natural Forms’. It will also help with the development of concepts for the work they will be completing in the New Year.

The three museums contain a huge range of objects, artworks, photographs, and manuscripts from all over the world, showcasing art, archaeology, history, science and nature. Armed with their sketchpads, the group busily made notes and sketches of the things they saw, which will serve as great inspiration to them back in the Art Rooms on the Hill.
