Yesterday Kingham Hill School's Year 10 and 12 pupils were joined in the School's art studio by renowned portrait artist, Anthony Connolly where they took part in an oil painting workshop.
Using Mrs Oldroyd and Mrs Tigwell, the art department's technician and teacher as models, pupils refined their oil painting techniques under the expert instruction of Connolly.
Connolly joined us on the Hill to lead the workshop where he spoke about his experience and knowledge of portraiture. Pupils were lucky enough to receive individual feedback and discussions with the 2004 Prince of Wales Portrait Drawing award winner and Royal Society of Portrait Painters member.
Our budding artists produced some stunning paintings, showing a range of distinctive styles, highlighting the depth of quality they will be displaying in their GCSE and A level exams next year.
