Award winning author inspires pupils

As part of the Chipping Norton Literary Festival the School were proud to welcome best selling young adult fiction author, Catherine Johnson, who led a talk for our Year 9 pupils.

Talking about her experience in working in music videos and writing for television and film, pupils got an insight into how writing as a career can take many forms.

As Catherine's talk moved into how she developed her career and found her passion for writing historical fiction, pupils were treated to some animated recountings of the true stories that inspired her work, Sawbones, Blade and Bone and The Curious Tale of the Lady Caraboo.

Pupils were even given the opportunity to ask Catherine questions about her inspirations for writing, her favourite authors and some tips for becoming award winning authors like her. The talk was finished off with pupils getting copies of Sawbones personally signed by Catherine.
