Feeding Communities

During the Easter holidays our School Catering Team took part in a challenge in support of the 'Feeding Communities Initiative'.

Organised by the Thomas Franks Foundation, the Feeding Communities Initiative uses Thomas Franks resources and expertise to produce made-up food parcels and freshly prepared meals to distribute to those in need.

The Challenge at Kingham ran over the course of three days and, with the help of pupil, staff and parent volunteers, our Catering Team produced an amazing total of 4,000 meals! The dishes included Quorn Chilli, Creole Mexican Bean Rice, and Sweet Chili Chicken Noodles. Additionally, the team decanted 3,000 sachets of curry powder and meticulously labelled 300 pots of raspberry jam. The finished products were distributed to a number of locations across Oxfordshire and London to help those who need it most.

Service, acts of kindness and thinking of others, are integral to life here on the Hill and we are extremely grateful to everyone who gave up their time to help to make the Challenge such a success. There was a lovely atmosphere throughout the three days as all the volunteers worked together and had fun, whilst getting the job done.
