Kingham Hill Careers Fair

At the end of January we held our very first Kingham Hill Careers Fair, where we were thrilled to host over 40 exhibitors representing a diverse range of careers and further education providers.

Areas covered included: Accountancy and Finance, Architecture, Armed Forces, Apprenticeships, Automotive / Motorsport, Aviation, Charity and Fundraising, Creative Arts, Dentistry and Medicine, Engineering, Gaming Industry, Hospitality & Catering, Journalism, Law, Marketing & Sales, Physiotherapy, Renewable Energy, Teaching and Travel and Tourism.

Prior to the event pupils were provided with a booklet which included profiles of all the exhibitors so that they could plan out who they wanted to make sure they spoke to on the day. They also had class discussions about how to start conversations and what questions they may wish to ask in order to make sure they were well-prepared.

Pupils are never too young to learn about, and be inspired by, careers and possible destinations beyond their time with us. It was fantastic to see pupils from 1st Form (Year 7) all the way through to Upper Sixth actively engaging with our visitors, asking questions, and having lots of interesting conversations. The positive feedback received following the event was overwhelming, and it is clear that the Fair made a significant impact.

We were especially pleased to welcome two of our alumni, Hillians Mark Amis (Plymouth / Devon, 1969-74) and Paul Davies (Greenwich, 1987-92), who took part in the event and shared their valuable insights and experiences with our pupils.
