In a significant step that will strengthen independent education across the region, Kingham Hill School will be joining the Dean Close Foundation in July 2025.
Based on shared values and a commitment to nurturing the unique potential in every pupil, this is an exciting development both for Kingham Hill and the Dean Close Foundation.
The Dean Close Foundation is a growing, vibrant and diverse family of independent schools and nurseries, uniting around a shared vision and set of values. These spring from the origins of Dean Close School, which was founded in 1886 in memory of Dean Francis Close, Rector of Cheltenham and educational philanthropist. The Christian ethos of that original school continues today, and the aim is that every child is given opportunities to flourish, underpinned by the core values of courage, contribution and love.
The similarities in our values and educational approach are the basis for a partnership which will allow our two senior schools to maintain their distinctiveness but collaborate where it will benefit pupils and staff. This partnership also brings the reassurance that our school has a strong and sustainable financial base on which to develop further.
“In joining such a dynamic and forward-thinking family of schools, this will provide exciting further opportunities for our pupils and staff, from academic synergies and co-curricular collaborations to expansion of our careers and futures network.” commented, Head, Mr Last.
We would like to express our thanks to the Foundation's Trustees who have worked with us over the last year to explore the many benefits that a sound partnership will bring to both Kingham Hill School and to the Dean Close Foundation.
This strategic partnership marks a new chapter for our community, one filled with promise, opportunity, and strength.
