The Lent Term has delivered another full and exciting season of sport at Kingham Hill, with pupils competing in a variety of fixtures, tournaments, staff vs pupils, and inter-house events.
Football has featured prominently this term with teams gaining valuable experience in both friendly and competitive matches. The 1st XI and 2nd XI contested a series of home and away games, showing determination and tactical growth as the season progressed.
Netball players also enjoyed a busy fixture programme, representing the school across age groups in both friendly and competitive matches. Positive team spirit was a hallmark of each game, earning praise from staff and peers.
Alongside football and netball, pupils took part in Rugby Sevens fixtures, providing opportunities for players of all ages to develop speed, skill, and game awareness in a fast‑paced format. Basketball teams also participated in friendly and competitive matches, giving pupils a chance to refine their skills, build confidence, and enjoy high‑intensity play. Beyond regular fixtures, early in the term, the Mixed Under‑14 House Swimming Gala offered a competitive yet supportive environment for pupils to represent their Houses.
House sport continued to play a central role in the term, with pupils from all year groups taking part in inter‑house competitions. These friendly rivalries offered memorable opportunities for participation beyond formal fixtures.
A standout event this term came on Tuesday 17th March when Kingham Hill hosted local primary and preparatory schools for the annual Windrush Football and Netball Tournament. The afternoon was full of energetic competition, enthusiastic support from the sidelines, and impressive officiating by Kingham Hill pupils, who demonstrated leadership, responsibility, and sportsmanship.
Looking ahead to Trinity Term, the focus turns to cricket, promising another exciting chapter in Kingham Hill’s sporting calendar. Whether training on the pitches, competing in matches, or supporting their teammates, pupils have embraced the Lent Term with energy, resilience, and commitment, fully embodying the school’s sporting values!
