This term, Lower Sixth pupils had the opportunity to focus on their futures through a Careers Day led by CWR Consultancy.
On Thursday 29th January, pupils reflected on their future pathways as they explored their personal profiles, developed teamwork skills, and took part in speed networking and mock interviews. They also received practical guidance on interview techniques and how to stand out in an increasingly competitive job market, equipping them with essential skills for the next stage of their education and careers.
Building on this momentum, Business Studies pupils later welcomed back a familiar face to the Hill. Mrs Evans, formerly a member of the school’s Greens Learning Support Department, returned in her new role as a business owner with Cook Stars.
Having purchased the franchise last summer, Mrs Evans shared an honest and insightful account of her journey into entrepreneurship, offering pupils a valuable first-hand perspective on the challenges and rewards of starting and running a business. Her talk brought classroom learning to life, providing practical advice grounded in real experience.
Adding a hands-on element to the session, pupils also had the opportunity to bake one of Mrs Evans’ scone recipes designed for primary school children, giving them a practical insight into how business, creativity, and customer engagement come together in practice.
