Dean Close Kingham Hill School is proudly celebrating an excellent year of academic achievement, with over half (53%) of all A Level and BTEC/CTEC results awarded the top A*/A grades.
With 79% of grades at A*-B and 93% at A*-C, these results highlight the strength of both our pupils’ dedication and the high-quality teaching that defines life on the Hill.
Over 20% of our Upper Sixth cohort achieved straight A/A*s, and in 14 of the subjects offered in our Sixth Form, at least half of all grades were at A*/A grades - a true reflection of the high quality all round education on offer at Kingham Hill.
Head, Pete Last said, “Over the past two years, our Upper Sixth pupils have shown remarkable commitment and perseverance, and I couldn’t be prouder of their achievements. Today’s results are a testament to their hard work, and I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to each one of them. Alongside celebrating their accomplishments, we must also recognise the invaluable support and dedication of our teaching staff, whose efforts have been crucial in helping these young people reach their true potential.”
We are delighted that 2 of our pupils have secured places to study at Oxbridge this September. Joe will be heading to Oxford to read Biochemistry, and Nathan (a leaver from last year) will be going to Cambridge to study Engineering.
The majority of our pupils have gained places at their first choice destination including the University of Bath, University of Bristol, Durham University, University of Edinburgh, University of Exeter, University of Leeds, Loughborough University, University of Manchester, University of Oxford, Royal Holloway University of London.
Our pupils will be studying a diverse range of courses including: Medicine, French & Spanish, Pharmacy, Marketing, Computer Engineering, English Literature, Philosophy & Psychology, Forensic Science, Sports Photography, Archaeology & Ancient History, Business Management, Music, Agriculture, Biochemistry, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Acting, Physiotherapy, Maths and History.
Mr Last continued, “I am thrilled that so many of our pupils have secured places at their first-choice destinations. At Kingham Hill, our mission is to equip every pupil with the skills they need to thrive in life. The achievements we celebrate today give our pupils the confidence to step boldly into their futures. As the school itself embarks on its own exciting new chapter, having recently joined the Dean Close Foundation, we are committed to sustaining this tradition of success for generations of pupils to come.”
