Pupils go the extra mile for charity

This summer a group of eight Sixth Form pupils will be travelling to the Eden Farm children's village in Chingola, a project run by charity Life Support that supports orphaned children in Zambia.

Last Friday our pupils kicked off their fundraising efforts with an evening full of activities with juniors taking part in a football and netball tournament and seniors taking up the challenge to run, cycle, row and swim personal best in the gym and pool.

The impressive work from everyone involved has already raised £977.50, nearly a third of Team Zambia's £3,000 target. The money raised will go towards supporting Eden Farm with the construction of a new house and providing education to the children living in the village.

When the pupils visit Eden Farm in July they will assist other volunteers will the construction of the house, run lessons for the children and support  widowed women in the local community.
