Pupils roar on Leicester Tigers at rugby Premiership match

At the end of April a group of 21 junior pupils travelled to Leicester to take part in a training masterclass, Q&A session with a current rugby union top flight player and watch a vital match between the Leicester Tigers and Newcastle Falcons at Welford Road.

Upon arriving at the training ground pupils were met by the Leicester Tigers coaches who were running the training session. It was a huge opportunity for pupils to develop on the skills they been working on at school with a different coach and an exciting chance for those who hadn't played before to try a new sport.

Although the weather was not as happy as the spirits it did not stop pupils training hard with a smile on their face for the whole two hours. Everyone was then treated to a question and answer session with George Worth, a player who worked his way to the first team through the academy. He shared with us the importance of working hard but also making sure that you are having fun.

Donning newly signed t-shirts the group made their way to the stadium to watch the match that would decide 4th place and therefore who would be in the playoffs! It was a very exciting match which went down to the final kick of the game following a decision that was made by the Television Match Official, which unfortunately meant that Leicester lost the match by two points. A big highlight however was everyone getting to have their photo taken on the pitch at half time.
