Sculpture, Storms, and ‘Scenes Unseen’: A Creative Spring for the Art Department

In May, 1st - 4th Form art classes visited the biennial Sculpture Trail Exhibition at Kingham Lodge; a beautiful base located just five minutes from the Hill. Pupils explored a variety of sculptures each unique in style, allowing them to develop their understanding of sculptural processes and ability to analyse an artwork. Despite the arrival of thunderstorms and treacherous rainfall, pupils made the most of their experience, taking plenty of photos to use as inspiration for their own compositions.

Taking further inspiration from our local community in other ways, pupils more recently produced their own compositions to enter into Chipping Norton Theatres' charity art auction. Using the theme 'Scenes Unseen', pupils each created a piece of original artwork, the size of a postcard with a small description about their artwork and what the theme means to them. Three postcards went on to be chosen from Kingham Hill, created by Bradey, Max and Daniel!
