Last Thursday evening we were treated to a showcase from our talented speech and drama pupils, as they presented the pieces they have been working on this term, under the guidance and support of our LAMDA teacher, Mrs Phillips.
From comedy to some very hard-hitting scenes there was something for everyone as pupils from 2nd From right through to Sixth Form took to the stage. Their performances included excerpts from "The Glass Slipper" by Eleanor Farjeon, "The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas" by John Boyne, Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet", "The Devil Wears Prada", "A Streetcar named Desire" by Tennessee Williams and "Distance" by Rik Mayall, Ade Edmundson and Lisa Mayer.
At the end of the evening our Headmaster, Mr Last, was delighted to present the pupils with their LAMDA certificates and medals. Our LAMDA results this year were outstanding - there was a 100% pass rate with no grades below merit level and 72% of pupils earning distinctions. A huge well done to everyone involved!
