On Thursday 8th May, pupils from 1st and 2nd Form were treated to a visit from acclaimed young adult author, Gabriel Dylan, best known for his spine-tingling stories and gripping horror fiction.
Throughout the morning, Gabriel kept his audience transfixed as he read excerpts from his popular books and shared behind-the-scenes insights into the craft of horror writing. From building suspense to creating believable characters in eerie settings, Gabriel encouraged pupils to experiment with their own ideas, and reminded them that fear can be a powerful storytelling tool when used thoughtfully.
Following the talk, pupils queued up to have their personal copies of Shiver Point signed by the author himself. For many, this was a memorable highlight — a chance to meet a writer and take home a personalised keepsake from the experience.
