The Mass: Historic Cross-Country Challenge

For more than a century, The Mass has stood as a beloved tradition at Kingham Hill. Each year, pupils and staff rise to the challenge of this legendary cross-country event, competing for House glory across a course that winds through the school’s scenic grounds.

Originally established over 100 years ago, the route has evolved through the decades to feature iconic landmarks such as Crofty Pond and The Last Leap.

In true Kingham Hill spirit, every pupil takes part, representing their House regardless of experience or athletic ability. The emphasis is on effort, teamwork, and perseverance, with runners cheered on enthusiastically by staff and pupils alike.

Once again this year, The Mass brought together the entire school community in celebration of friendly competition, resilience, and tradition — values that have defined Kingham Hill for generations.
