The penultimate week of half-term saw a flurry of spirited sport, as our Houses battled it out in rugby and hockey. With strong performances, memorable moments and plenty of House pride on display, it was a great showcase of Trinity Term sport.
House Rugby Report
This year’s Inter-House Rugby competitions featured four exciting tournaments across all age groups, from fast-paced junior games to the intense senior showdown.
Junior Tournaments
Two great tournaments were held at junior level, one touch and one contact. Both formats delivered exciting rugby, with players showing impressive energy, teamwork, and competitive spirit throughout.
- 1st Place: Team Baring – 42 points
- 2nd Place: Team Charles – 34 points
- 3rd Place: Team Young – 20 points
Inters Tournament
The Inters Tournament was another highlight, going down to the final game to determine the winner. Every match was tightly contested, with players leaving everything on the field.

- 2nd Place: Woodstock – 18 points
- 3rd Place: Team Boarders – 10 points
Senior Tournament
The senior match was a fierce and physical encounter between Havelock and The Rest, with the game remaining close well into the final quarter. Ultimately, Havelock’s structure and power saw them pull away late in the game to secure a hard-earned win.
- Havelock 31 – 19 The Rest
Sports Graduate, Tom Barber, commented “Across all levels, this year’s Inter-House Rugby delivered outstanding rugby and unforgettable moments. Congratulations to Team Baring, Havelock, and all players who contributed to a memorable series of tournaments. The passion, determination, and sportsmanship shown reflect the very best of school rugby.”
House Hockey Report
Junior Tournament
The Junior Tournament saw Greenwich split into three teams - Biles, Williams and Phillips. After close and competitive matches, Team Biles emerged victorious, winning 2-1 in their first game and drawing 1-1 in the second.
Inters and Senior Tournaments
The afternoon of hockey for 4th Form through Upper Sixth featured high-energy, closely fought matches. In both the A and B Tournaments, it came down to goal difference, with Severn winning both.
Sports Graduate, Ella Benson, reflected: “It is always a joy to see such enthusiasm for hockey and sport, and even more wonderful to see the girls grow in skill and confidence. Thank you to everyone who came to support and congratulations to Severn and Team Biles for winning. Overall, it was fantastic to see a high level of hockey played across both days and to see older pupils lead the younger years so wonderfully.”
