Choosing your subjects in the Sixth Form
The process of selecting Sixth Form subjects begins in the 5th Form, following the Sixth Form Open Evening and Taster Day, but is only completed once GCSE results are released in August. Pupils should contact Mrs Berkeley to confirm or discuss their subject options after they have received their results. These subject choices are confirmed after a meeting either in person or on the phone at the start of term, if not before, and timetables drawn up accordingly.
A level courses are demanding and rigorous, with a significant step up in complexity and expectation from the first to the second year. As such, we have sought to ensure that we have created a clear checkpoint for Lower Sixth pupils so that they are able to monitor their own progress and to enable effective and meaningful conversations and meetings to take place.
